This is a polyurethane-based, double-component, solvent-free, highly corrosion-abrasion resistant, multi-functional yacht putty that is used for coating, insulating and gluing metal, mineral, steel, wooden and concrete surfaces.
Surface Preparation&Application
The application surface should be cleaned from any kind of stain, rust, grease and loose paint and coating layer, sanded or roughened. The dew point should be monitored during application and treating moist or wet surfaces should be avoided. Moist and/or water may cause abnormal bubbling of the product. Based on the given blending ratio, the product should be mixed homogenously with the hardener. Should be rested for 3-4 minutes. It should be applied in thin layers to fill deep cracks and indents. And 4 – 6 hours should be waited between each coat. If waited for longer than 24 hours, then the surface should be sanded slightly.
Thinning / Blending Ratio
3 units of PU Yacht Putty + 1 unit of PU Yacht Putty Hardener by weight. Used without thinning.
Coverage Area
Approximately 450 – 500 g putty is required for 1 m² when applied for creating a dry film of 250 microns. Coverage area varies in practice according to surface roughness and spillage.
Drying Time
At 20℃, the putty is touch-dry in 6 hour, antidust-dry in 12 hours and hard-dry in 24 hours. For mechanical process, fully dry in 4 to 6 days.
Recommended Application Tools
Spatula, putty knife, floating rule, airless spray.
